About me
Ciao! My name is Beatrice and I am originally from Rome. Teaching Italian has always been my passion. I have been teaching in UK for over 5 years now and before that, I taught Italian in Italy and France. I have always been fascinated by languages and have been a language student myself for a long time. Learning languages has allowed me to appreciate the process involved and to understand my students’ perspective. This is something that I always bear in mind when creating my lessons. Charlemagne said that “to have another language is to possess a second soul”: learning a new language really is a new way to see the world and to discover new people and cultures. I love to share Italian culture with my students, but also to meet and learn about the world from them.
My approach

In my lessons, I use a mix of didactic approaches, paying particular attention to the communicative aspect. During my many years of teaching, I have developed an ever growing interest in different learning styles, and in the implementation of didactic techniques which help to favour all types of learners. This allows everyone to be able to use their own skills and to learn in the most effective way. My students are the at the very centre of the learning process and this is why my lessons are always tailored to their needs and goals.
I always work towards creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in class, where everyone can feel at ease to try and experiment using the language. I aim to make learning interesting, incorporating cultural aspects, original materials and engaging activities.
Apart from providing trainings for other teachers, I keep myself up to date with the latest teaching techniques and didactic tools.
